Benevolence Bound is a small, Vermont-based company which creates hemp clothing for which Cynthia Emerlye creates the designs. Benevolence Bound wants to see industrial hemp developed in the US, one of the only countries in the world which does not recognize this plant as different from marijuana. The hemp plant is a promising and valuable alternative to wood pulp and many other resources and could greatly help in the effort to reduce global warming. |
Cynthia has created complex floral-cannabis designs, all of which are tangled with cords or ribbons suggesting that the societal benevolence of hemp is currently bound by ignorance and politics. |
